Intelligent Vehicle Occupant Detection (IVOD)

Performs real-time facial detection and recognition of all vehicle occupants (both front and rear seats) under a variety of challenging conditions including day, night, inclement weather, high-glare sunlight, and through heavily tinted glass.

 

Technology

With IVOD patent pending technology, security officers can see inside vehicles as they approach entry gates and know who is inside with accuracy and speed. The high-resolution machine vision camera is optimized for both day and night operation, the camera is paired with a powerful targeted array of LED lights that illuminate the driver and other occupants even through tinted glass, sun glare and at night. Using advanced image processing, the driver and passengers are highlighted while windshield glare from sunlight or overhead area lighting is removed through Gatekeeper’s advanced computer vision algorithms.

By combining a high-resolution camera that’s optimized for day and night operation with powerful LED arrays that light up the inside of the vehicle, even through highly-tinted windows, ballistic glass, and heavy glare.

Facial Detection & Recognition
IVOD utilizes Gatekeeper’s proprietary algorithms to effectively “see” into the vehicle and quickly return: the highest-quality cropped facial image for each of the vehicle’s occupants, a total count on the number of vehicle occupants, and clear labeling of the driver vs. passengers.

Verification of ALL Occupants
For applications requiring facial recognition, Gatekeeper’s software is able to identify all vehicle occupants (in both front and rear seats) and perform advanced facial matching. This integrated facial recognition capability enables the rapid identification of allowed employees or visitors to a facility, or is also utilized to identify persons-of-interest against pre-defined watch lists.
