How Does It Work?
While Gatekeeper’s automatic train undercarriage inspection system may seem too good to be true, there are a few simple steps that make it function easily and competently. As trains pass over the patented dual-view scanner, which is embedded in between the two train rails, two high-resolution, virtual 3D digital images are created of each car’s undercarriage. These images are then compared to reference images of a regular rail car stored in the system database. If anything out of the ordinary is noticed, the system places a red ring around the anomaly and activates an alarm.

The GKR-TR11 is capable of integrating with central servers, which will maintain the database for reference images and tracking train activities. It can also be used with our container code reader to keep track of the movement of containers which will link back to the train’s manifest.
