Entry Control Point System
The terrorist enemy wears no uniform, kills anyone for effect, and is highly mobile. Vehicles are its primary transport and when armed with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), vehicles are its favorite weapon. Vehicles are easy to obtain and become inexpensive "smart bombs" when piloted by a suicide driver.
Detecting hostile vehicles is difficult, expensive, and very dangerous. Brave soldiers using .mirror on a stick. technology act as camouflage canaries, risking their lives to inspect the underside of vehicles where it is easy to hide IEDs. Manual vehicle inspection takes time and creates traffic bottlenecks which in turn become attractive targets to terrorists looking for concentrations of people to target for maximum disruption and loss of life.
