Automatic Under Vehicle Inspection System (AUVIS) Monitoring Unit:
The AUVIS monitoring unit comes in two main formats; 1) Mobile AUVIS version and 2) Guard Shack AUVIS version. Each version contains a database
with automatic and/or on-demand search features. The AUVIS database includes a complete vehicle profile including vehicle make and model, under
vehicle reference and achieved images (front and back views), image of the front and/or rear of each vehicle including number plate (optional
automatic license plate reader), date and time stamp of each entry. The database can be expanded to include information from other access control
technologies for example, driver details and images, biometric information etc.
The AUVIS database can be searched for a wide range of information. This search feature would allow for the placing of vehicles on a Watch List
for example. Vehicles can be placed on the Watch List by either their license plate number or by their make and model. The AUVIS automatically
compares each vehicle as it crosses the AUVIS to those vehicles listed on the Watch List. The AUVIS database also allows for the automatic comparison
of each vehicle license plate to the undercarriage image to watch for number plate cheats i.e. where a vehicle, identified by its license plate
number, is approved to enter a facility but the license moves the plate to a different vehicle to gain access for a non approved vehicle.
The Mobile AUVIS monitor is a combination monitor and CPU that is the size of a large brief case. The Mobile AUVIS monitor has a 19" high
resolution NIF or Capacitive touch screen and fold over cover that doubles as a stand when opened. The Guard Shack AUVIS monitor is a 19" high
resolution capacitive touch flat screen. The Guard Shack AUVIS has a separate flat screen and CPU that is set up to be mounted in various positions
within a guard shack allowing maximum flexibility.
Each monitor utilizes state of the art enhancements to provide a large format display capable of operating in bright lighting conditions. The
enhancements can include:
- Enhanced Specula Reflector (ESR). The ESR reflects ambient light back through the LCD. The brighter the ambient light the brighter the
screen.
- Ambient light sensor that controls the screen's back lighting. During daylight hours additional back lighting is provided by an enhanced inverter
and dims the screen at night to avoid illuminating the operator.
- Near field imaging capacitive screen allows heavy glove use (no need for operator to take gloves on and off to operate system)
- The only touch screen to pass the UL ball drop test.
